Presentation of the publication of the artistic intervention “transient senses” that Alex Arteaga did in the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. This new editorial project by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe with the collaboration of editorial RM. Its presentation consists of three events in three different places: a dialogue, an exhibition and a debate.
On the festivities of Santa Eulàlia we invite you to experience this initial idea: we invite you to come at night and transport you to the illumination that was in the original pavilion.
The Fundació Mies van der Rohe along with the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission brings this cultural and architectonic benchmark closer to students, professors, professionals and everyone interested in architecture.
The exhibition features the 211 projects submitted by 268 students from over 100 Schools and 86 European cities at Young Talent Architecture Award 2016.
Shortly after building the Barcelona Pavilion, Verseidag, the large silk-weaving company in Krefeld, Germany, commissioned Mies van der Rohe to build its factory. It was constructed between 1930 and 1935 and the premises are now called the Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Business Park. One of the spaces of this factory will show the exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2015.
Presentation for teachers of an activity that invites A-level pupils to discover a new way to understand architecture through the structure, the materials and the forms of the pavilion that architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe built in Barcelona in 1929.
