“Public participation in contemporary European architecture: EU Mies Award 2017” is the tile of the lectures given at the Vallès School of Architecture (ETSAV) to introduce the EU Mies Award and make it more familiar to students and professors.
At 10.30 am, Anna Ramos, the director of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, will present the works collected in the Atlas of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award related to this subject: Granby Four Streets in Liverpool, LM Village in Mirsini Ileias, A Home away from Home in The Hague, Herberge Refugee Home in Innsbruck and the finalist, Deflat Kleiburg in Amsterdam.
At 11.30 am, Marta Serra, Elena Albareda and Jordi Calbetó from the studio CICLICA + CAVAA will discuss their project Recovery of the Thermal Garden System, Caldes de Montbui, in which public participation also played an important role.
