European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2017 in Slovakia

The exhibition of the 355 works nominated for the European Union Prize of Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2017 after itinerating by Rumania on three different venues and Bulgaria, stops now in two different venues in Slovakia previous to its venue in Cyprus.

This exhibition at Primaciálny Palac features panels of the 355 nominated works and a special presentation of the 40 selected works. It also includes the models of the Winner and the Emerging Architect Winner.

An exhibition in the frame of Festival Days of Architecture and Design Bratislava that presents the results of the EU Mies Award 2017 through a new didactic-critical format. The 355 panels represent all nominated works as presented to the jury, which eventually selected five finalists, one Emerging Architect laureate and a Winner.
The exhibition is a sort of itinerary that captures the entire process of the jury’s work, demanding debates, assessment criteria, and the outcome to highlight the importance of urban character in European architecture. The compiled overview of the top rated architectural works in each country at the same time illustrates the current state, but also the themes, methods and preferences in the current architecture of Europe.
