Nit dels Museus

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the reconstruction of the Barcelona Pavilion, the Mies van der Rohe Foundation will contribute to the Museums Night for the first time ever. This year, we invite you to discover the Pavilion in a different way: by night!
At 19:00 on Saturday, May 21, we shall open our doors free of charge. From this time until 1:00h you will be able to visit the German Pavilion built for the 1929 Barcelona World Fair. Furthermore:

Every hour on the hour:
“Music in the Pavilion gardens”
Concerts featuring chamber and jazz ensembles from the Liceu Higher Conservatoire. Duration: 30 min.

As from sundown:
“History of the Pavilion 1929-1986-2016”
Loop projection of images recording the three key moments in the history of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion: the original construction in 1929, the reconstruction in 1986 and the present day.

All night long:
“#miesdenit Contest”
Tell us about your Museums Night at the Pavilion by using hashtag #miesdenit.Discover your favourite corner when night falls, take a nice photo, share it at hashtag #miesdenit (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and win a year-long season ticket to visit the Pavilion as often as you like! Take a close look at Georg Kolbe’s Alba, capture the reflections on the water or on the golden onyx. We’re looking forward to seeing your efforts!

The Museums Night,which this year reaches its twelfth edition,is an initiative of the Council of Europe in which over four thousand museums from forty European countries take part. We invite you to celebrate this special night at the Pavilion and in the social networks by sharing your pictures with the hashtags #30miespavilion, #miesdenit and #bcnesmuseu.
