La Mercè open doors and Kapla workshop

The Fundació Mies van der Rohe celebrates La Mercè as every year with an open day at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.

We also invite you again to participate in the morning of Monday between 11 am and 2 pm in the Kapla workshop thought as a construction laboratory for both adults and children: The proposal is to experiment during the time you want, creating and doing the buildings inspired by the architecture of Mies van der Rohe. Play to reproduce the type of structures that characterize the architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich with the 15,000 pieces of wood of identical size that we put at your disposal with the help of specialized instructors.

Enjoy this unique space that was designed in 1929 and laid the foundations of modern architecture and discover what makes it so special.
Mies van der Rohe did from works like this pavilion in Barcelona to skyscrapers in New York and Chicago. May the structure look like? If we overlay many pavilions would we have a skyscraper? We have the space and the pieces to get to do great constructions and to enjoy a different morning where to learn and have fun.
