We are looking for photographs, films, documents and stories of citizens who knew the space of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion between 1929 and 1986.
The Fundació Mies van der Rohe is preparing a documentary on ‘The lives of the Pavilion’ and you can be one of the protagonists.
Do you have a contribution to do?
This documentary wants to condense the experience and contents of the exhibition “The Lives of the Pavilion”, the documentary “The Reconstruction” and the symposium “Mies van der Rohe – Barcelona, 1929” expanded with new interviews and materials.
The Mies van der Rohe Pavilion was built in 1929 and disassembled in 1930. The land it occupied was left free until the reconstruction works began in 1983. In 1986 the current Pavilion was inaugurated.
Why was the Pavilion space preserved for so many years without building?
Do you have photos of the buildings that were on the esplanade of the Magic Fountain and that they are no longer there?
We want our archive to be as complete as possible and maybe you can contribute to the documentary collection of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe or you know someone who has an image or a memory that is worth it not to be forgotten.
If you know any story about the original 1929 Pavilion, the dismantling or the reconstruction works, or you have a graphic document, an advertisement for the 1929 International Exhibition, a photograph, a film … contact us at:
