Open doors, all the doors, and guided visits by Santa Eulàlia

To celebrate Santa Eulàlia, one of Barcelona’s co–patron saints, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion opens its doors, all its doors. We open the upper access and we invite you to walk through the Pavilion in the way it was thought on 1929 not just by staying but crossing it.

Mies van der Rohe chose a space at the edge of the esplanade of the International exhibition that boiled with activity and took refuge on the mountain side, next to a large palace that left it in the shade. However, it was in the middle of a path that connected the Magic Fountain and the Spanish Village, becoming the natural path to save the slope with a walk between colored marbles, multiplied by water. Stairs to climb on the stage and stairs to continue the stroll, maybe surprised by the experience. At the Pavilion the game of integrating interior and exterior is the same between its walls as it is with its perimeter: the promenade begins and ends on the outside, but at different levels, a transition.

We also invite you to a free guided tour to discover and better understend this Modern Architecture masterpiece.
