As a contribution at “Per amor a les arts”, the film season promoted by the Filmoteca de Catalunya on relations between cinema and the other arts–architecture, literature, music, dance, opera and theatre—as seen from the transversal perspective of cinema, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe presents:
Columbus (USA, 2017, 104′) directed by Kogonada
This city of Indiana and the architecture of Polshek, Saarinen, Meier and Pei are behind this subtle film about harmony. Kogonada’s first feature film “balances formal control and excitement not imposed, and proposes a new model of philosophical cinema in which form is fund. And vice versa” (Jordi Costa).
Presentation by Alessandro Scarnato, Architect graduated at the University of Florence and a PhD by the UPC in Barcelona.
The films selection is presented by the main cultural institutions in Barcelona: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Fundació Joan Miró, the FAD / Museu del Disseny, L’Auditori, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, Mercat de les Flors, Palau de la Música Catalana, Generalitat de Catalunya Libraries Service, Teatre Lliure and Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.
