Davos Declaration public presentation

The Fundació Mies van der Rohe, represented by its director, participates in the presentation of the Davos Declaration 2018 whose objective is to define a common European position in favor of the quality of the built environment, and joins the desire to promote and disseminate its values.

Anna Ramos moderates the round table about the objectives of the Davos Declaration 2018 looking for the quality of the built environment. A reflection on the importance of it and its potential for the field of culture and its role in the safeguarding, preservation and regeneration of heritage and cities.

The Davos Declaration claims the need to promote, under the name of Baukultur, quality constructed space, with an integral perspective that, based on a cultural approach, shapes our identity and defines our heritage. It also promotes public policies that promote it, develop it and place it at the center of urban transformations.
The Declaration is signed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the great majority of the governments of the European Union, and other entities related to civil society, culture and heritage such as UNESCO, EUROPA NOSTRA, ICCROM and the Architects’ Council of Europe.

The Fundació Mies van der Rohe adheres in this act to the Davos Declaration together with the following institutions: Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid, Conferencia de Escuelas de Arquitectura de España, Círculo de Bellas Artes, International Union of Architects, UIA, Union of Mediterranean Architects, UMAR, Fundación Arquia, Fundación ICO, Fundación Norman Foster, Acción Cultural Española, Sociedad Civil por el Debate, Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Aparejadores y Arquitectos Técnicos, Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid and Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España.
