Under the title “We do research”, the event will be presented by Sandra Bestraten, president of the Barcelona Demarcation, and moderated by the architect Anna Ramos, of the Open Group of Women Architects and director of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, which promotes Lilly Reich grant for equality in architecture.
We will have the participation of the architect Daniela Arias, who will present the essentials of her thesis “The construction of the architectural story and the architects of modernity: a feminist analysis of historiography”, and the Phd. architect Laura Martínez de Guereñu, winner of The first edition of the Lilly Reich grant for equality in architecture promoted by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe , which will present its research on the extraordinary work of Lilly Reich in Barcelona in 1929.
From the initial expositions, we will talk about the research women do, the research done on women, and the women who do research. It will also be discussed the invisibility, the difficult balance between collective work and individual recognition, the glass roofs in academic and research fields, the tools to break them and the strategies and pacts that women researchers do in personal life.
In the frame of the series of talks “We women do”, with the objective of discussing the role of women in different aspects of the profession and promoting and encouraging their participation and visibility.
