The Fundació Mies van der Rohe joins again the project “Per amor a les Arts” proposed by the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, contributing with cinematographic proposals related to architecture.
Together with l’Auditori, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, Mercat de les Flors, Palau de la Música Catalana, Public Libraries Service of the Generalitat, Teatre Lliure and Teatre Nacional de Catalunya we build a cycle including various forms and genres with the contributions of the respective specialties: the cinema feeds the other artistic disciplines with original and always enriching views.
On this occasion the director of the proposed film herself, Maria Mauti, will present l’Amatore. A trip to the intimate corners of one of the most renowned architects during the two decades of Italian fascism, Piero Portaluppi, who was in charge of building the Italian Pavilion at the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929. A journey to rediscover his architectonic work and his film diary, a unique opportunity to enjoy this file in 16 mm shot and mounted by the architect.
The previous proposal presented by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation was Vicenzo Natali’s Cube and the next film of the cycle related to architecture will be Blade Runner by Ridley Scott on May 8 with the presentation of Josep Maria Montaner.
