With the aim of promoting good architecture, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe has curated for the second consecutive year for the company Simon S.A. the project Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize.
The award distinguishes those architectures of excellence focusing on the experience of its inhabitants and introduces video as the main tool to explain architecture. In this year’s edition, the award has had a successful participation with 114 applications for projects built in more than 10 countries between Europe and Mexico.
The jury composed of Frida Escobedo, Ricardo Flores, Cecilia Tham, Davide Rapp and Salvi Plaja, met last October in Barcelona to choose the finalists and winners of the two categories in which the prize is structured: Collective Places and Personal Places.
The winning project of each category will be announced at an open ceremony in Espacio 100 de Simon (Barcelona) on November 28th at 7:00 p.m.
During the celebration, the members of the jury will talk about their verdict and the award-winning architects will explain their projects. The videos of the winning candidates will be screened and also a documentary clip about the second edition of the prize produced by 15L Films.
