Screening of the documentary “Mies on scene. Barcelona in two acts” at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid on September 13th at 7:30 p.m. and debate between Atxu Amann, Daniel Canogar and the directors and scriptwriters of the documentary.
After being selected at festivals in Los Angeles, Winnipeg, Santa Cruz (Argentina), Barcelona, Sydney, Beirut, New York, Vancouver, Washington, Rotterdam and Lund, and after his presentation in Barcelona and Berlin, the documentary premieres now in the Spanish capital.
Produced by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Nihao Films, “Mies on Scene: Barcelona in two acts” reviews the history of this milestone of the Modern Movement that changed the history of architecture and whose construction and reconstruction took place at two key moments for the city.
The voices of the architects who rebuilt the Pavilion, the responsibles of MoMA, Oriol Bohigas, Fritz Neumayer, Xavier Rubert de Ventós and Eduardo Mendoza, among others, allow us to reflect and above all to ask questions such as What does it mean to rebuild? What is a work of art? Who can appreciate it? about which we invite you to debate together with the directors and writers of the documentary and with a conversation between the architect Atxu Amann and the artist Daniel Canogar. Action guaranteed.
