Music Pavilion: Sonatas for piano prepared by John Cage, Lluïsa Espigolé – Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival

Within the framework of the Barcelona Overture Spring Festival, Obertura City + the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion is part of a program of 33 free access performances to listen to the young local musical talent.

The Pavilion hosts the interpretation of one of the main figures of the twentieth century musical avant-garde played by the pianist Lluïsa Espigolé.

Lluïsa Espigolé (Barcelona, 1981) is specialized in the contemporary piano repertoire. Her activity focuses on the interpretation and releases of experimental music as soloist, chamber music, ensembles as well as collaborating in interdisciplinary projects and free improvisation. She has performed, among others, at the Lucerne Festival, the Musica Festival Strasbourg , 8Brücken Köln, the Internationales Musikfestival Darmstadt, Sampler Sèries, the OUT.SIDE Series, the Sónar Festival, the Mixtur Festival. She collaborates with several groups including Ensemble Adapter (Berlin), Ensemble Ascolta (Stuttgart), CrossingLines Ensemble (Barcelona), Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt) and Ensemble Plus Minus (London). She is currently a professor of contemporary piano and chamber music at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Aragon, a task that combines with pedagogical activities in several national and international institutions.
