New views, perspectives and re-readings of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion

The closed Mies van der Rohe Pavilion is holding these days the intervention Re-enactment: Lilly Reich’s work occupies the Barcelona Pavilion, by Laura Martínez de Guereñu. While we wait to be able to reopen it to the public, we invite you to watch the videos of some of the interventions that the Pavilion has hosted since its reconstruction.

Some artists have intervened in the Pavilion playing with light with results as spectacular as Big Bang Building Light !, by Mario Pasqualotto, and Geometry of Light, by Luftwerk & Iker Gil. Others have shown us their rereading from dance as the collective and multi-format project Woman against the light (available online only during these days of confinement), the show by Toni Mira or The Secret of Jellyfish by Sabine Darenhof. Others have modified the materiality of the Pavilion in different aspects: Mies Missing Materiality by Anna and Eugeni Bach on the walls, floors and columns, With Milk find something everybody can use by Ai Weiwei in the water and I don’t want to change the world. I want to express it by Luis Martínez Santa-María in the immediate environment.

In addition to these videos, you can consult the art interventions section on our website, and when you have enough screen you can enjoy the collection of publications and catalogs of interventions in the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion that you can now find in our online library with a 20% discount. We bring you some rereadings of the Pavilion with the new looks of the artists.

If you weren’t able to go then, you can see it now. And, if you were there and you have other videos of sound, video, dance, light or art interventions, share them with #miesbcnathome. We would like to see your gaze!
