Presentation of the book ‘Rationalist Barcelona. The GATCPAC and the avantgardes of the 1920-1930’

Large format book, is a thorough essay on rationalist architecture and GATCPAC. The GATCPAC member architects were related to the context of the time, especially with the avant-gardes of the so-called international style, especially Le Corbusier, and also with the most breaking artists of the moment, such as Picasso, Miró and Dalí. The book also explains the profound complicity that GATCPAC developed with the Republican and Catalan movements of the 1930s, and its social project to improve the lives of the popular classes in all areas, from housing to education and health.
The author of the book, Mercè Vidal i Jansà, and the original photographer, Lluís Casals will be presenting the book.
