From the Fundació Mies van der Rohe we would like to present the activities we have in store for the first half of 2021. An inclusive programme that adds resources and diverse formats to amplify its scope that we are sure you will enjoy.
We reactivate proposals that had had to be suspended, such as the intervention ‘Beautiful Failures‘ with ELISAVA, ‘The Mies Project‘ with CaixaFòrum or the presentation of the publication ‘The expression of weight‘, and we incorporate some others, such as the site-specific installation of a piece by Félix González-Torres simultaneously with his exhibition at MACBA.
We are programming again the Music Pavilion, the Reading Pavilion and the Pantalla Pavelló film series, confident that the Pavilion’s own characteristics as an open space make it safe and we encourage you to enjoy it with an unusual peace of mind beyond the Open Days: The new Mies van der Rohe Pavilion card gives you unlimited access as well as discounts in the bookshop and many other advantages.
And, in case you can’t come, we have created an online guided tour in collaboration with Guiding Architects, which adds to the educational activities: the on-site visit, research support with access to the archive and the library and a new call for proposals, on 8 March, for the Lilly Reich Grant for Senior High School students.
Following our mission to generate new opportunities for the debate and dissemination of contemporary architectural culture, we bring back the workshop co-organised with the UPC, FUNDARQ Mexico and SOFAR and also promote it with the exhibitions linked to the EU Mies Award, the fifth edition of the Barcelona Architecture Week, the Young Talent Architecture Award in the framework of the Venice Architecture Biennale and through the Future Architecture Platform. We host the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism in the Pavilion, support the International Architecture Film Festival and accept the challenge of the EU to create a new Bauhaus.
This presents a start of the year filled with energy and opportunities in a lively programme that we invite you to follow closely on our websites and social media.
