A new edition of Viu Montjuïc. The Park of Culture, the great festival of culture and leisure, arrives with more than 70 facilities come together to strengthen bonds between neighbors and the entire community, filling this great lung of the city with proposals, itineraries, and activities.
For our part, we offer free access to the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion to discover not only this iconic architectural piece of the Modern Movement but also the artistic intervention “Suspendre el Cel”, with which Caio Reisewitz transports us to the Amazonia.
On both days, at six in the evening, you can see the dance performance “Hebra” by Paula Quintana, which creates a dialogue between the human body, the vegetal body of the installation “Suspendre el Cel,” and the architectural body of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. While Reisewitz addresses themes such as the destruction of nature and cultural erasure, Quintana delves into the ideas of domination and reciprocity, with intertwined bodies. The body-landscape proposed by the choreographer inhabits Reisewitz’s installation and activates it for a set period, through movement.
“Hebra” is organized in collaboration with the Graner center for dance and live arts and can be viewed from the Pavilion itself or from the esplanade.
For these activities at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, no reservation is needed: come and combine it with the activities you enjoy most from the Viu Montjuïc program to discover, enjoy, and make the Park of Culture your own.
