The Mies van der Rohe Pavilion hosts the exhibition Everyday life explained through architecture. Barcelona, 2000-2020, a critical look at the construction of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and the way it has been lived on a day-to-day basis in the first two decades of this century.
Based on a selection of works, writings and research carried out by the teaching staff of the Department of Architectural Design of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – UPC, a critical journey is presented on this period where everyday life has been deeply marked by the financial and health crises to which the climate crisis must be added to rethink the way we use our planet’s resources and the way we are materializing our life together.
“Everyday life explained through architecture. Barcelona 2000-2020” in addition to being the name of the exhibition is also the subject of the accompanying debate with the authors of the projects and is also the title of the film that will be screened to close the opening event.
