Mass is More will radically transform the Pavilion with large laminated timber structures that represent a material departure from the Modern Movement – mostly concrete and steel – in favor of renewable, carbon storing biomaterials that are sourced regionally and sustainably.
The proposal is part of the program of artistic interventions of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and is a reflection from Barcelona, European City of the Forest 2022, on sustainability in architecture and solutions based on nature.
We invite you to come to the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and let yourself be surprised by this intervention by the architects Daniel Ibañez, Vicente Guallart and Alan Organschi, the result of the collaboration of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and Bauhaus Earth. If you want to join us for the opening on Tuesday 4 at 7:00 p.m., you must book here.
Take note of the days and hours when you can visit and come and see for yourself!
