Architecture serves as a means to read the social, political, and environmental dimensions of society. In the context of research by the Architectural Logics for Emergent Contexts (ALEC) research group, a seminar is being organized to give voice to agents of architectural culture, researchers, professors, and internationally recognized curators. The event aims to open a dialogue on how architecture, understood in its broadest sense, can contribute to shaping spaces that reflect, question, and communicate the cultural, social, and political values of our time.
Architecture is in continuous adaptation to fit the context in which it operates, to respond to and address the challenges of the present and the future with a global perspective. Climate change, the economy, politics, demography, culture, or social trends impact architecture, which becomes a means to read the social, political, and environmental dimensions of society.
This discipline is not an isolated area of knowledge, but something that mutates and evolves, addressing changing and emerging contexts to seek a fairer and more sustainable society.
In this line and in the context of the research of the Architectural Logics for Emergent Contexts (ALEC), the La Salle Barcelona – Ramon Llull University campus hosts a seminar that will give voice to agents of architectural culture, researchers, professors, and internationally recognized curators. Focusing on the cultural dimension of architecture, the event aims to open a dialogue on how architecture, understood in its broadest sense, can contribute to shaping spaces that reflect, question, and communicate the cultural, social, and political values of our time.
The event is part of the Architecture Weeks of the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and can be followed online.
