On the occasion of the presentation of the new publication “Foundations of Urban Design” by Marcel Smets with the publishing house Actar, the programme of Debates at the Pavilion hosts a conversation on the historical and contemporary, interpretative and design approaches to urbanity. A meeting in which the author shares and contrasts his points of view with those of Joan Busquets, Carles Crosas and Anna Ramos.
Marcel Smets, who participated as a member of the jury in the last edition of the EUmies Awards, has been involved in all aspects of urban planning. He was professor of urban design at the KU. Leuven in Belgium and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Joan Busquets is an architect and urban planner and professor at GSD Harvard. Carles Crosas is an architect and urban planner and professor at ETSAB-UPC. Anna Ramos is an architect and researcher and director of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe.
We invite you to come to the Mies der Rohe Pavilion on Thursday 16 March at 1 p.m. to listen and learn from this debate that is sure to raise issues that interest you.
