Fundació Mies van der Rohe is pleased to support the Pavilion Workplace project, a competition of ideas in the field of architecture, design and interior design with the aim of inviting reflection on workspaces organised by USM and ADEKAYA BCN.
After the success of its first edition and in accordance with its biennial nature, the second edition of Pavilion Workplace arrives, this time proposing two categories, one for professionals and one for students, and extending the scope of the call with the incorporation of Mexico and China as guest countries.
This competition aims to generate a framework for reflection on what offices and the places where people carry out their professional activity are like, or could be like in the future, using the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion as the place to develop the proposals
The Barcelona Pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, has been extensively studied and interpreted, while inspiring the work of several generations of architects: Pavilion Workplace challenges participants to think about how the Pavilion can inspire new workplaces.
Among all the projects submitted, the jury will select 6 finalists and two winners, which will be reproduced with VR technology and can be visited virtually during an award ceremony to be held in October at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. The winners will receive a piece of USM furniture and a trip to USM’s headquarters in Münsingen, Switzerland.
Check the competition rules and register before 14 June 2021.
