The publication ‘El Marge’ is part of Terence Gower’s intervention at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.
Gower’s project rewinds the clock to the era when Mies’ pavilion was originally built and stages a retrospective experiment where the gritty urban culture of the Barcelona of this period, a wild political and cultural whirlpool, insinuates itself into the pristine, aspirational microcosm built on the slopes of Montjuïc.
This publication his important research on the queer subculture of the city at the time of the original Pavilion and includes the literary accounts of the Chinatown by Jean Genet, the social satire of Josep Maria de Sagarra and the contributions of Juan José Lahuerta and Celia Marín, experts in the transcultural theme of the project.
