Working Mies, Bea Sarrias & Morrosko Vila-San-Juan

Working Mies is an exhibition by the pictorial artist Bea Sarrias and the filmmaker Morrosko Vila-San-Juan, at Cosentino, to which the Fundació Mies van der Rohe gives its support in accordance with its commitment to promoting different perspectives and interpretations of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. In it, a supposedly unfinished research work is developed on the parallelism and game between painting, architecture, interior design and audiovisual that shows both graphically and pictorially as well as audiovisual, the process of preparation and search for a future exhibition on the Pavilion of Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich.

Recently, on November 2022, Bea Sarrias has donated one of her pieces to the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, in which she portrays the onyx inside the pavilion in a unique way. The Fundació is proud to add this piece to its own art collection.

Bea Sarrias, has developed a large part of her work in Barcelona, where she studied Fine Arts and soon became interested in architecture and the portrait of iconic spaces. Her work, based on the work of important Spanish and international architects, has received various awards. Among her most important projects is the large-scale project on the relationship between Sert, Miró and Gomis, which is still in development.
In 2021 she exhibits “Welcome to La Ricarda”, together with Morrosko Vila-San-Juan, and shortly afterwards, she took a new work to Brussels on the architects Coderch and De Koninck, which will travel to Madrid in 2023.

Morrosko Vila-San-Juan is a filmmaker. Born in Barcelona and a graduate in Philosophy and Arts, he has a long career as a filmmaker and journalist. He has written, directed and produced numerous documentaries and video-creation pieces. He regularly collaborates with different television channels and platforms, as well as with galleries, institutions, foundations and art centres.
Together with Bea Sarrias, he has produced audiovisual pieces inspired by iconic architecture, such as “Un día en la Ricarda” (selected for the Loop Barcelona Festival), “La Cima de Coderch (unfulfilled dream)”, presented at the Barcelona Design Week, or “Miró-Sert-Gomis. La Luz en el taller del artista”, an exhibition and audiovisual project that is still in development; “Bienvenidos a La Ricarda”, in Lab36, by Galería Senda, and “Bcn-Bxl. Coderch-De Koninck. Beyond Time”, exhibited in Brussels, and selected for the Barcelona International Film and Architecture Festival and the Brussels Capital Film Festival.
