‘Pantalla Pavelló’ is the film series directly projected on the travertine of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion that delves into the relationship between the built environment, its limits and its borders, the people who inhabit it, and how this relationship is accentuated and revealed in its maximum expression.
On this occasion, under the title “Architects and Architectures” the cycle brings us three sessions with documentaries that revolve around the figure of the architect and his work.
Starting with two documentaries that present the lives of two female characters and their contributions to the world of architecture. Lina Bo Bardi, del vidrio al barro, (Spain, 2022, 43′) directed by Josep Maria Montaner and Jacobo Sucari; and [On set with] Lilly Reich, (Spain, 2022, 33′) by Laura Lizondo, Débora Domingo & Avelina Prat. Which was granted with the 2nd Lilly Reich Grant for Equality in Architecture.
The directors of both documentaries Josep Maria Montaner and Avelina Prat will also be present.

Lina Bo Bardi, del vidrio al barro
The documentary investigates in a pedagogical approach the life of the young architect in Brazil. Coming from postwar Italy, Lina Bo Bardini was part of modernity, the Brazilian-style developmentalism that in Sao Paulo in the 1950s gave a new character to architecture.
But Lina went much further than this reflection of European modernity. Living and staying in the places where she developed her projects, observing the territory, the people and popular culture, the democratic exchange of knowledge – a dialogue between equals – led her to imprint an anthropological gaze on her architecture.

[On set with] Lilly Reich
A young professor decides to investigate the work of the designer and architect Lilly Reich through a journey through the main places where Reich had a significant presence – from her formative phase and her early works to her period of collaboration with Mies van der Rohe and the solitude of her last years – to contrast it with the recognition she received in the media. Although much of his legacy has been silenced by critics, recent studies reveal Reich’s important contributions to architecture and design.
